My breakout show from 2019 concerned my disappearance, and replacement by an irritating fictional cartoon character called Mr Fruit Salad, who spent most of the show’s runtime trying to work out what his catchphrase was. Beneath all the shrieking nonsense, this show was a meditation on anxiety, grief, loneliness and emotional recovery, and somehow those themes must have emerged from out of the chaos, because it ended up winning the Comedians’ Choice Award for Best Show and being nominated for the Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality and the Chortle Award for Best Musical & Variety Act. It transferred to two sellout runs at Soho Theatre. The show was directed by Alex Hardy and co-starred Ben Target, who was also a creative consultant on it.

The show was filmed as a comedy special by Go Faster Stripe at the Moth Club in 2023, and is now available to watch here:
