The Happiness Chain – Crowdfunder
I’m making a sitcom pilot!
Last year I wrote a script that got nominated for a bunch of writing awards (didn’t win any of them though, boo hoo, woe is me).
The amazing Ben Kent suggested we team up and make it, and it’s my last big project of 2024. I’ve rewritten it to be a bit more manageable and the kind of thing we can make independently, but it’ll still be the most ambitious indie project I’ve made, so we need your help!
I’ve been making comedy for over a decade now. A huge amount of it has been entirely self-funded. I’ve never done a crowdfunder, because they make me feel physically sick. Who am I to come cap in hand to you guys?? You have important lives to be getting on with!
But while I’ve made a bunch of standalone indie short films on the one hand, and I’ve written a bunch of pilot scripts on the other, I’ve never had enough faith in myself to actually MAKE one of those scripts into a reality, and this time I want to see what happens when I really believe in an idea.
I’d love your help. If you can afford to support the project with even a small donation, I’d be so grateful. If you can share the project with other friends or networks you might have (really really rich ones preferably), I’d love that too. We have a bunch of rewards available for those who’d like to back the project.
